Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2006 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Passages, Ta Phrom, 2001 by Russel Wong. The price achieved of HKD 21,600.00 (€ 2,169.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 18,000.00 – 28,000.00. Admittedly, works by Russel Wong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bamboo Forest in May 2007 with an auction result of HKD 204,000.00 (€ 19,424.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2006 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Passages, Ta Phrom, 2001 von Russel Wong zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 21.600,00 (€ 2.169,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 18.000,00 – 28.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Russel Wong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bamboo Forest im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 204.000,00 (€ 19.424,96).
