In the British, Continental and Russian Pictures auction, the work Lunch in the park sold for GBP 3,840.00 (€ 5,699.04) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Roy Petley; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Beach At Dueville sold at auction in November 2006 with the realized price of GBP 3,840.00 (€ 5,702.52).
