Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Brushstroke Iv by Roy Lichtenstein was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 225,000.00 (€ 213,027.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Brushstroke Iv von Roy Lichtenstein kam im November 2015 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 225.000,00 (€ 213.027,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy Lichtenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nurse im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 95.365.000,00 (€ 90.290.664,65).
