Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Classic Photographs, which included the work Man Standing Outside of a Building by Roy DeCarava. Here, the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 25,200.00 (€ 21,814.40). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Roy DeCarava - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hallway, New York, which sold at auction in October 2019 for USD 72,500.00 (€ 64,993.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Classic Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Man Standing Outside of a Building von Roy DeCarava zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 25.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 25.200,00 (€ 21.814,40) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Roy DeCarava mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hallway, New York beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für USD 72.500,00 (€ 64.993,28) versteigert wurde.
