The work John Coltrane, Half Note by Roy DeCarava was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2021. It achieved a price of USD 50,400.00 (€ 43,628.81), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 68%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Roy DeCarava; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Hallway, New York sold at auction in October 2019 with the realized price of USD 72,500.00 (€ 64,993.28).

Die Arbeit John Coltrane, Half Note von Roy DeCarava kam im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 50.400,00 (€ 43.628,81) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 68%. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Roy DeCarava; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Hallway, New York im Oktober 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 72.500,00 (€ 64.993,28).
