Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Selected Images From A Vanished World by Roman Vishniac. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,506.13) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Roman Vishniac have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'The Vanished World' in October 2010 with an auction result of USD 28,125.00 (€ 20,242.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Selected Images From A Vanished World von Roman Vishniac zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.506,13) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Roman Vishniac auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'The Vanished World' im Oktober 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.125,00 (€ 20.242,55).
