In October 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Sara, Sitting In Bed In Basement Dwelling, With Stenciled Flowers Above Her Head, Warsaw by Roman Vishniac. The result of USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,858.62) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Roman Vishniac have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'The Vanished World' in October 2010 with an auction result of USD 28,125.00 (€ 20,242.55).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sara, Sitting In Bed In Basement Dwelling, With Stenciled Flowers Above Her Head, Warsaw von Roman Vishniac zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 3.858,62) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Roman Vishniac auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'The Vanished World' im Oktober 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.125,00 (€ 20.242,55).
