This artwork by Roger Fenton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February 2016. In the Modern Visions: Exceptional Photographs auction, the work Images from the Crimean War, 1856 sold for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,750.83) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roger Fenton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'The Valley Of The Shadow Of Death' in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 157,000.00 (€ 100,847.89).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Roger Fenton erzielte im Februar 2016 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Visions: Exceptional Photographs wurde die Arbeit Images from the Crimean War, 1856 für USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.750,83) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roger Fenton erzielen.
