This work of art by Roger Fenton could be acquired at Il Ponte in July 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fotografia auction, the work Marechal Mac Mahon 1855 changed hands for EUR 1,500.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 1,600.00 – 2,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roger Fenton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'The Valley Of The Shadow Of Death' in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 157,000.00 (€ 100,847.89).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Roger Fenton konnte im Juli 2020 bei Il Ponte für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fotografia wechselte die Arbeit Marechal Mac Mahon 1855 für EUR 1.500,00 den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.600,00 – 2.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roger Fenton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'The Valley Of The Shadow Of Death' im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 157.000,00 (€ 100.847,89).
