Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Le Bon Samaritain (Van Gelder 100) by Rodolphe Bresdin. The price achieved of USD 23,750.00 (€ 21,798.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rodolphe Bresdin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Et In Arcadia Ego; And A Busy Continental Street Scene, which sold at auction in September 2004 for GBP 39,435.00 (€ 57,451.81).
