In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art and Dogs, which included the work Bullfinches by Rodger McPhail. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 705.00 (€ 1,013.12), 41% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Rodger McPhail have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Grouse in Flight in October 2018 with an auction result of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,752.88).

Im Juni 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bullfinches von Rodger McPhail zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 705,00 (€ 1.013,12) und damit 41% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rodger McPhail auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Grouse in Flight im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.752,88).
