This artwork by Rodel Tapaya achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in Hong Kong in May 2019. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale auction, the work Two Works: (i) Lift; (ii) Door to Door sold for HKD 106,250.00 (€ 12,160.28) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Rodel Tapaya have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Repatriated Bodies in October 2020 with an auction result of HKD 693,000.00 (€ 76,755.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Rodel Tapaya erzielte im Mai 2019 bei Phillips in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Two Works: (i) Lift; (ii) Door to Door für HKD 106.250,00 (€ 12.160,28) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Rodel Tapaya auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Repatriated Bodies im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 693.000,00 (€ 76.755,39).
