In November 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Afternoon Session, which included this untitled work by Robert Irwin. The result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 38,355.32) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Irwin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 8,331,600.00 (€ 7,381,589.44).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Afternoon Session durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Robert Irwin zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 38.355,32) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Irwin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.331.600,00 (€ 7.381.589,44).
