The »bidding war« ended at USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,048.59), 34% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Robert Demachy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Frederick Holland Day in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 68,750.00 (€ 63,102.34).

Die Arbeit Dans les Coulisses von Robert Demachy wurde im Oktober 2017 in der Auktion The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.048,59) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Robert Demachy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Frederick Holland Day im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 68.750,00 (€ 63.102,34).
