Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Robert Demachy could be acquired at Christies in New York in September 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs from the Isadore and Kelly Friedman Collection auction, the work Behind the Scenes; and the Struggle, from Camera Work, January and July 1904 changed hands for USD 625.00 (€ 439.55) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 900.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Demachy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Frederick Holland Day in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 68,750.00 (€ 63,102.34).
In der Auktion Photographs from the Isadore and Kelly Friedman Collection wechselte die Arbeit Behind the Scenes; and the Struggle, from Camera Work, January and July 1904 für USD 625,00 (€ 439,55) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 900,00 – 1.200,00.
