Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Les Coureurs by Robert Delaunay was sold in the 20th Century Evening Sale auction at Christies in New York in May 2021. The price achieved of USD 2,430,000.00 (€ 1,992,783.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Delaunay - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tour Eiffel, which sold at auction in February 2012 for GBP 3,737,250.00 (€ 4,462,375.53).
