In November last year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session, which included the work Love Hate Relationship by Robert Colescott. The »bidding war« ended at USD 50,400.00 (€ 48,823.02), 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Colescott achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work George Washington Carver Crossing The Delaware: Page From An American History Textbook in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 15,315,900.00 (€ 12,560,193.54).

Im November letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Love Hate Relationship von Robert Colescott zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 50.400,00 (€ 48.823,02) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Colescott erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit George Washington Carver Crossing The Delaware: Page From An American History Textbook im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.315.900,00 (€ 12.560.193,54).
