Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Where Is My Castle In The Sky by Rina Banerjee was sold in the Contemporary Curated auction at Sothebys in London in March 2016. The price achieved of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,997.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rina Banerjee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work In what seemed at first a monster's colonial dream, leprechauns of amber body and agile mind blew west wondering what it would be like to leave land, ocean, bird, bear, feline and the bounty of horned beasts, to leave our nature for culture, which sold at auction in March 2013 for USD 30,000.00 (€ 23,408.24).
