Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work With tinsel and teeth, gem and gem...get back to where by Rina Banerjee was auctioned at Christies in Paris in December 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 6,250.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rina Banerjee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work In what seemed at first a monster's colonial dream, leprechauns of amber body and agile mind blew west wondering what it would be like to leave land, ocean, bird, bear, feline and the bounty of horned beasts, to leave our nature for culture, which sold at auction in March 2013 for USD 30,000.00 (€ 23,408.24).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit With tinsel and teeth, gem and gem...get back to where von Rina Banerjee im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 6.250,00 den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Rina Banerjee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit In what seemed at first a monster's colonial dream, leprechauns of amber body and agile mind blew west wondering what it would be like to leave land, ocean, bird, bear, feline and the bounty of horned beasts, to leave our nature for culture beobachtet, die im März 2013 für USD 30.000,00 (€ 23.408,24) versteigert wurde.
