Auction result misses estimated price range
In June this year a collector was able to acquire the work Plastic History (Portfolio) by Richard Tuttle for USD 762.00 (€ 697.80). This price was achieved in the auction Editions & Works on Paper at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Tuttle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Silver Picture in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 1,762,500.00 (€ 1,424,933.30).
