Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2000 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work The 7th Royal Fusiliers on parade by Richard Simkin. The price achieved of GBP 940.00 (€ 1,536.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Simkin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 10th Prince of Wales's Own Royal Hussars; and three others, which sold at auction in January 2001 for USD 5,287.50 (€ 5,680.60).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 940,00 (€ 1.536,39) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Richard Simkin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 10th Prince of Wales's Own Royal Hussars; and three others beobachtet, die im Januar 2001 für USD 5.287,50 (€ 5.680,60) versteigert wurde.
