This artwork by Richard McLean achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2005. In the first open Post-War and Contemporary Art auction, the work Peppermint Filly sold for USD 8,400.00 (€ 6,966.33) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Richard McLean have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Red Rider II with Border Collie in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 68,500.00 (€ 47,648.86).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Richard McLean erzielte im September 2005 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion first open Post-War and Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Peppermint Filly für USD 8.400,00 (€ 6.966,33) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard McLean auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Red Rider II with Border Collie im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 68.500,00 (€ 47.648,86).
