Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2006 Christies in Sydney held the auction THE W.R. BURGE COLLECTION, which included this untitled work by Dick Watkins. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 7,170.00 (€ 4,232.07). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dick Watkins - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Circus, 1981-84, which sold at auction in November 2018 for AUD 13,420.00 (€ 11,851.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2006 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion THE W.R. BURGE COLLECTION durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Dick Watkins zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 7.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 7.170,00 (€ 4.232,07) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Dick Watkins mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Circus, 1981-84 beobachtet, die im November 2018 für AUD 13.420,00 (€ 11.851,98) versteigert wurde.
