The work Australian The Conquest Of Peru by Dick Watkins was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in November 2008. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 11,400.00 (€ 5,878.71), 43% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dick Watkins - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Circus, 1981-84, which sold at auction in November 2018 for AUD 13,420.00 (€ 11,851.98).

Die Arbeit Australian The Conquest Of Peru von Dick Watkins wurde im November 2008 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 11.400,00 (€ 5.878,71) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Dick Watkins mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Circus, 1981-84 beobachtet, die im November 2018 für AUD 13.420,00 (€ 11.851,98) versteigert wurde.
