Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Australian ...And There Was Light by Dick Watkins for AUD 14,400.00 (€ 8,405.97). This price was achieved in the auction Important Australian Art at Sothebys in Melbourne and was even below the estimate range of AUD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Dick Watkins have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2018 by the work Circus, 1981-84 at AUD 13,420.00 (€ 11,851.98).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im August 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Australian ...And There Was Light von Dick Watkins für AUD 14.400,00 (€ 8.405,97) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Dick Watkins wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2018 die Arbeit Circus, 1981-84 mit AUD 13.420,00 (€ 11.851,98).
