Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dreamscape by Dick Watkins was auctioned at Christies in Sydney in May 2005. The price achieved of AUD 5,975.00 (€ 3,672.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dick Watkins - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Circus, 1981-84, which sold at auction in November 2018 for AUD 13,420.00 (€ 11,851.98).

Die Arbeit Dreamscape von Dick Watkins kam im Mai 2005 bei Christies in Sydney zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 5.975,00 (€ 3.672,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Dick Watkins mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Circus, 1981-84 beobachtet, die im November 2018 für AUD 13.420,00 (€ 11.851,98) versteigert wurde.
