Auction result well in line with expectations
In August this year Bonhams in Sydney held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Woman #17, 1993 by Dick Watkins. The price achieved of AUD 6,765.00 (€ 4,036.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dick Watkins - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Circus, 1981-84, which sold at auction in November 2018 for AUD 13,420.00 (€ 11,851.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Sydney die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Woman #17, 1993 von Dick Watkins zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 6.765,00 (€ 4.036,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 6.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Dick Watkins mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Circus, 1981-84 beobachtet, die im November 2018 für AUD 13.420,00 (€ 11.851,98) versteigert wurde.
