Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction PAINTINGS FROM THE JOSEPH BROWN COLLECTION, which included the work Barbed Wire by Dick Watkins. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 10,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 11,352.50 (€ 6,978.45). Other works by Dick Watkins have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of AUD 13,420.00 (€ 11,851.98) in November 2018 for the work Circus, 1981-84.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2005 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion PAINTINGS FROM THE JOSEPH BROWN COLLECTION durch, in der auch die Arbeit Barbed Wire von Dick Watkins zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 10.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 11.352,50 (€ 6.978,45) einen neuen Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Dick Watkins haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von AUD 13.420,00 (€ 11.851,98) im November 2018 für die Arbeit Circus, 1981-84 beobachtet.
