Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Alphabet R by Richard Deacon was auctioned at Phillips in New York in May 2019. It changed hands for a price of USD 43,750.00 (€ 39,241.19) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 35,000.00 – 45,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Deacon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Breath, which sold at auction in June 2010 for GBP 85,250.00 (€ 103,671.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Alphabet R von Richard Deacon kam im Mai 2019 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 39.241,19) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 35.000,00 – 45.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Richard Deacon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Breath beobachtet, die im Juni 2010 für GBP 85.250,00 (€ 103.671,93) versteigert wurde.
