Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Christies in London held the auction Post War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Untitled (RAL36) by Richard Billingham. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 3,938.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Richard Billingham have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work (I) Untitled (Ral 4) (Ii) Untitled (Nral 42) (Iii) Untitled (Ral 7) (Iv) Untitled (Ral 38) (V) Untitled (Ral 45) (Vi) Untitled (Ral 43) (Vii) Untitled (Ral 46) (Viii) Untitled (Ral 48) (Ix) Untitled (Ral 50) (X) Untitled (Ral 51) in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,789.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (RAL36) von Richard Billingham zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 3.938,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Richard Billingham auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit (I) Untitled (Ral 4) (Ii) Untitled (Nral 42) (Iii) Untitled (Ral 7) (Iv) Untitled (Ral 38) (V) Untitled (Ral 45) (Vi) Untitled (Ral 43) (Vii) Untitled (Ral 46) (Viii) Untitled (Ral 48) (Ix) Untitled (Ral 50) (X) Untitled (Ral 51) im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.789,57).
