Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Christies in London held the auction First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Untitled (Nral 21) by Richard Billingham. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,388.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Billingham achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work (I) Untitled (Ral 4) (Ii) Untitled (Nral 42) (Iii) Untitled (Ral 7) (Iv) Untitled (Ral 38) (V) Untitled (Ral 45) (Vi) Untitled (Ral 43) (Vii) Untitled (Ral 46) (Viii) Untitled (Ral 48) (Ix) Untitled (Ral 50) (X) Untitled (Ral 51) in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,789.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Nral 21) von Richard Billingham zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.388,02) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Billingham erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit (I) Untitled (Ral 4) (Ii) Untitled (Nral 42) (Iii) Untitled (Ral 7) (Iv) Untitled (Ral 38) (V) Untitled (Ral 45) (Vi) Untitled (Ral 43) (Vii) Untitled (Ral 46) (Viii) Untitled (Ral 48) (Ix) Untitled (Ral 50) (X) Untitled (Ral 51) im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.789,57).
