A top price for Richard Barnes - as previously expected
In October 2018 Christies in New York held the auction The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints, which included the work Unabomber Cabin, Exhibit A, B, C, D, 1998 by Richard Barnes. The price achieved of USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,309.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Unabomber Cabin, Exhibit A, B, C, D, 1998 is the most expensive artwork by Richard Barnes that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Oktober 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unabomber Cabin, Exhibit A, B, C, D, 1998 von Richard Barnes zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.750,00 (€ 3.309,21) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Unabomber Cabin, Exhibit A, B, C, D, 1998 das teuerste Kunstwerk von Richard Barnes, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
