The result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 10,652.65) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Reynolds Beal have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Marblehead Races in December 2004 with an auction result of USD 71,700.00 (€ 52,962.03).

Die Arbeit Moonlight At Sea von Reynolds Beal kam im September 2008 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 10.652,65) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Reynolds Beal auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Marblehead Races im Dezember 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 71.700,00 (€ 52.962,03).
