Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Downie Brothers Circus at Gloucester, Massachusetts by Reynolds Beal was sold in the Impressionist and Modern Art auction at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2010. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 9,375.00 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Reynolds Beal have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Marblehead Races in December 2004 with an auction result of USD 71,700.00 (€ 52,962.03).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 9.375,00 und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Reynolds Beal auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Marblehead Races im Dezember 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 71.700,00 (€ 52.962,03).
