Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Picassos By the Sea by Red Grooms was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in July 2021. The price achieved of USD 12,600.00 (€ 10,620.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Red Grooms have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Joltin' Joe Takes a Swing in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 70,500.00 (€ 83,382.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Picassos By the Sea von Red Grooms kam im Juli 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.600,00 (€ 10.620,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Red Grooms auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Joltin' Joe Takes a Swing im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 70.500,00 (€ 83.382,61).
