A top price for Rebecca Ness
When the work Origins by Rebecca Ness was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 500,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 2,016,000.00 (€ 239,342.47). This high result makes Origins the most expensive artwork by Rebecca Ness that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis für Rebecca Ness
Als die Arbeit Origins von Rebecca Ness im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 500.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 2.016.000,00 (€ 239.342,47) mehr als viermal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Origins zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Rebecca Ness, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
