Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A head of a tiger (illustrated); and A head of a lion by Raymond John Vandenbergh was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in November 2008. The price achieved of GBP 562.50 (€ 680.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Raymond John Vandenbergh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Three studies of lions and tigers, which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,905.77).
