Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A head of a tiger (illustrated); and A head of a lion by Raymond John Vandenbergh was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in November 2008. The price achieved of GBP 562.50 (€ 680.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Raymond John Vandenbergh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Three studies of lions and tigers, which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,905.77).

Die Arbeit A head of a tiger (illustrated); and A head of a lion von Raymond John Vandenbergh wurde im November 2008 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 562,50 (€ 680,10) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Raymond John Vandenbergh mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Three studies of lions and tigers beobachtet, die im Juli 2008 für GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.905,77) versteigert wurde.
