Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lions on the prowl by Raymond John Vandenbergh was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in October 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 437.50 (€ 504.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Raymond John Vandenbergh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Three studies of lions and tigers, which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,905.77).
