Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 500.00 (€ 576.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Raymond John Vandenbergh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Three studies of lions and tigers, which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,905.77).
