Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Yvonne (Tête de jeune fille) by Raymond Duchamp-Villon was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2002, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 9,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,752.45). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Raymond Duchamp-Villon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Femme assisse in May 2002 with an auction result of USD 1,439,500.00 (€ 1,541,385.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Yvonne (Tête de jeune fille) von Raymond Duchamp-Villon im Februar 2002 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 9.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.525,00 (€ 5.752,45) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Raymond Duchamp-Villon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Femme assisse im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.439.500,00 (€ 1.541.385,59).
