This artwork by Raymond Duchamp-Villon achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2019. In the Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale auction, the work Cheval et cavalier, second état, dit "Le cavalier droit" sold for USD 23,750.00 (€ 21,553.68) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Raymond Duchamp-Villon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Femme assisse in May 2002 with an auction result of USD 1,439,500.00 (€ 1,541,385.59).
