It achieved a price of USD 10,200.00 (€ 8,644.07), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 28%. Admittedly, works by Ray Swanson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Headin' Through Dry Country in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 97,000.00 (€ 62,339.33).

Die Arbeit Watching the Flock von Ray Swanson kam im August 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 10.200,00 (€ 8.644,07) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 28%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ray Swanson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Headin' Through Dry Country im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 97.000,00 (€ 62.339,33).
