This price was achieved in the auction Majestic America: Property from an Important Western Collector at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Ray Swanson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Headin' Through Dry Country in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 97,000.00 (€ 62,339.33).
