Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Showtime at the Navajo Fair by Ray Swanson was sold in the Majestic America: Property from an Important Western Collector auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,048.00 (€ 4,983.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ray Swanson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Headin' Through Dry Country in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 97,000.00 (€ 62,339.33).

Die Arbeit Showtime at the Navajo Fair von Ray Swanson wurde im Januar 2021 in der Auktion Majestic America: Property from an Important Western Collector bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 6.048,00 (€ 4.983,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
