Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hosteen Begay at the Canyon 36 x 24 in. framed 47 x 34 in. by Ray Swanson was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,100.00 (€ 4,940.42) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ray Swanson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Headin' Through Dry Country in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 97,000.00 (€ 62,339.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Hosteen Begay at the Canyon 36 x 24 in. framed 47 x 34 in. von Ray Swanson kam im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.100,00 (€ 4.940,42) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ray Swanson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Headin' Through Dry Country im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 97.000,00 (€ 62.339,33).
