Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Playing At The Corral by Ray Swanson was sold in the American Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2007. The price achieved of USD 27,000.00 (€ 20,188.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ray Swanson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Headin' Through Dry Country, which sold at auction in May 2008 for USD 97,000.00 (€ 62,339.33).
