Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Lucky - Two Cut Out Lucky's with El Blanco Cuba Stamp by Ray Johnson for USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,241.15). This price was achieved in the auction Unbound: Online Auction at Phillips in an online auction and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ray Johnson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Comb in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 55,800.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Lucky - Two Cut Out Lucky's with El Blanco Cuba Stamp von Ray Johnson für USD 2.500,00 (€ 2.241,15) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Unbound: Online Auction bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ray Johnson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Comb im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 55.800,26).
