In September last year Christies in New York held the auction Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba, which included this untitled work by Ravinder Reddy. The »bidding war« ended at USD 52,920.00 (€ 54,093.84), 51% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ravinder Reddy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Family in March 2013 with an auction result of USD 341,000.00 (€ 266,073.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Ravinder Reddy zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 52.920,00 (€ 54.093,84) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ravinder Reddy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Family im März 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 341.000,00 (€ 266.073,66).
