Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2016 Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work This Picture is Not A Rest by Rashid Rana. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 13,925.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rashid Rana achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Veil #6 in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 325,250.00 (€ 413,233.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2016 führte Phillips in London die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit This Picture is Not A Rest von Rashid Rana zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 13.925,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rashid Rana erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Veil #6 im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 325.250,00 (€ 413.233,79).
