Auction result well in line with expectations
The work War Within 3 by Rashid Rana was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2016. The price achieved of USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,559.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,500.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rashid Rana achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Veil #6 in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 325,250.00 (€ 413,233.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit War Within 3 von Rashid Rana wurde im September 2016 in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.559,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.500,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rashid Rana erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Veil #6 im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 325.250,00 (€ 413.233,79).
